Immigration psychosocial assessments are comprehensive evaluations designed to support individuals navigating complex immigration processes. These assessments are often used for hardship waivers (601/601A), VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) petitions, U visas, and T visas. Their purpose is to provide a clear understanding of the psychological and social factors affecting a person’s life, helping immigration officials see the real impact of hardship, trauma, or family separation. We approach these evaluations with care, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity. These assessments are generally conducted by licensed mental health professionals who specialize in understanding the intersection of psychological health and immigration law. Through structured clinical interviews and evidence-based assessment tools, thorough reports that translate personal experiences into clear, credible documentation that attorneys and immigration courts can understand.
Purpose and Implementation
Psychosocial immigration assessments play an important role in supporting many immigration cases by documenting the emotional, psychological, and social hardships experienced by individuals and their
families. These evaluations are commonly used in cases such as hardship waivers (601/601A), where evidence is needed to demonstrate extreme hardship if deportation occurs; VAWA petitions, which require documentation of abuse and its psychological impact; and U or T visa cases involving trauma related to qualifying criminal activity or human trafficking. Our clinicians conduct structured clinical interviews and utilize evidence-based assessment tools to develop clear, comprehensive reports that attorneys can include in immigration petitions or court documentation. These evaluations translate an individual’s experiences into credible clinical findings that help illustrate the human impact of the case. All reports are prepared according to professional mental health and forensic standards and are shared only with the client, their attorney, and the appropriate immigration authorities to ensure confidentiality throughout the legal process.
Payment Options
We strive to tailor each immigration psychosocial evaluation to the unique needs of every client. Because these evaluations are typically not covered by insurance, we offer a flexible payment structure to make the process more manageable. Half of the fee is due upfront as a non-refundable deposit to secure the appointment, with the remaining balance due on the day of the assessment, before the assessment begins. This allows clients and their attorneys to plan while moving forward with the evaluation process. For cases that require a faster turnaround, we also offer rush and expedited reports for an additional fee, ensuring that urgent immigration matters are handled as efficiently and promptly as possible. Please make sure the request for a fast turnaround is requested when making the deposit.
If you or your attorney are considering an immigration assessment, we’re happy to answer questions and help guide you through the process.
